Wells Fargo Bank Donates KidWalk to Delrey

September 2, 2010

UCP Delrey School would like to thank Wells Fargo Bank’s Corporate Trust Division for funding the purchase of a KidWalk Dynamic Mobility System, one of the newer gait trainers on the market, for the school’s physical therapy deparment.

The KidWalk will be a wonderful addition to the school’s physical therapy department because unlike traditional gait trainers, the KidWalk allows freedom of exploration while safely supporting a child with orthopedic disabilities. It has a large mid-wheel configuration that encourages hands free upper-body rotation over the pelvis and allows lateral weight shift similar to a natural walking pattern. It’s also easy to maneuver and encourages kids to independently explore their environment, which has been proven to enhance cognitive and social development. Self-initiated movement helps develop neural and motor skills and learning spatial relationships the same way that a child without physical limitations would.

At Wells Fargo, Community Reinvestment is an integral part of its business culture. Wells Fargo has long understood that it can be no stronger, nor more successful, than the neighborhoods and communities where it does business. Supporting its communities allows them to better meet their customers’ financial needs and helps them to achieve its goal to be one of America’s best companies. UCP greatly appreciates the generosity of Wells Fargo Bank and looks forward to a continued partnership with them.
