From the Principal’s Desk:
A warm welcome back to all students, parents, and staff. A new school year presents new challenges and new opportunities.
The summer session went smoothly and we are ready to continue providing our quality services to enhance our student’s learning for the 2015 – 2016 school year.
Overall we had a good school year last year. Because of staff’s hard work and dedication, student’s participation and support from the parents, our program continues to grow. Here are some highlights:
- Our school was certified to provide programming for students with deaf-blindness (dual sensory impairments) by MSDE in August, 2014.
- Delrey’s 50th Anniversary Celebration was held on June 6, 2015. In attendance were former and current students, parents and staff. Dr. Lillian Lowry, MSDE Superintendant, local school representatives and district delegates also came to celebrate the event with us. A good time was had by all.
- Carroll County School Speech Pathologist cited Delrey staff’s use of PODD (Pragmatic Organized Dynamic Display) system for students with complex communication needs as exemplary.
- A Lite-Gait (Treadmill and Harness) system was purchased with a grant from Merritt Properties which benefits many students who are unable to use a standard treadmill.
- Obtained MSDE approval to add “Therapeutic Feeding” as a separate related service.
Looking forward to a great school year!

Also, if you need to pick up your child early, please come to the receptionist desk to sign your child out. It is essential for your child’s safety and for State reporting documents that our student attendance records be accurate.
